Laundrettes are dying away! Who still goes?

Doing a project.Laundrettes a dwindling before us. It has a great potential to get people together socially and do some productive washing..but as washing machines are more affordable-the use of these potential social hubs are going. I wonder what would revolutionize this place into something more attractive? need some tips.
